Counseling For Women*
*As Lizzo lovingly says, “if you feel like a girl, then you real like a girl”
“Each time a woman stands up for herself, she stands up for all women.”
- Maya Angelou
Anxiety
Anxiety doesn’t always necessarily show up as excessive worry. It can look like irritability, fatigue, or body tension. Meeting with a counselor can help you recognize your anxieties and triggers, and teach you ways to cope more effectively.
Depression
Do you struggle with low energy, feelings of inadequacy, or lack of motivation? Or maybe you’ve recently experienced a great loss in your life? It’s okay to need help digging yourself out of the hole.
Stress Management
Our society is obsessed with productivity. Juggling a million tasks and roles at once causes burnout and even then sometimes it doesn’t seem like we’re doing enough. Therapy can help you develop coping skills to recognize when you’re feeling stressed, what’s causing it, and help you manage it.
Communication
How effective are you at communicating your needs and feelings to those closest to you? As women many times we’re sent the message that talking about our feelings is “needy” or we’re “being too emotional”. This is crap! Learn how to effectively, calmly, and clearly have important conversations and interactions.
Relationship Issues
Do you and your partner have conflicts often? Therapy can be a safe place to get an outside perspective and discuss issues in your romantic and family relationships as well as friendships.
Boundaries
Do you have difficulty or feelings of guilt saying no? Do you feel the need to manage everyone’s emotions around you and feel responsibility for issues that aren’t yours? Learn what boundaries are and how to set them with others.
Life Transitions
Changing careers. Marriage. Divorce. First child. Pregnancy. Body changes or illness. Moving. These transitions can be rewarding but stressful!
Assertiveness
Our society often interprets assertiveness in women as aggression or “being a bitch”. Let’s put an end to this double standard and speak up for our needs!
Self-Love
Do you struggle with negative self-talk? Or critical or obsessive thoughts about your body when you look in the mirror? Learn to treat yourself with kindness and compassion.
